My love for aviation started at a young age. For me, the best part of traveling with family was always the visit to the airport and the plane rides home. I joined the club in high school and worked to obtain my private pilot certificate. After graduation, I attended college at SIU before returning to the club to serve as a flight instructor and club President.

My journey into aviation began after I lost my father in October 2024. He had a deep passion for aviation, and learning to fly became a way for me to carry a piece of that passion forward and honor his legacy.
What started as something deeply personal quickly became something I fell in love with for myself. Flying has given me challenge, freedom, confidence, and an entirely new perspective on the world. I love that aviation constantly asks you to learn, grow, and trust yourself while never letting you become complacent.
I hope to continue building my skills, exploring new places, and staying involved in the aviation community for years to come. As Secretary of the Decatur Aero Club, I’m grateful to be part of a group that shares the same enthusiasm for flight that first inspired my father—and ultimately inspired me.

I have wanted to fly planes for as long as I can remember, and having the Decatur Aero Club right in my backyard helped me do that. Since they have 3 planes, I never had trouble scheduling one when I wanted to fly. Plus, I like being able to fly out of a towered airport with very friendly staff. I love flying, my only regret is that I didn’t start sooner!
